Tekalign has been certified from the American Academy of Project Management as a Certified International Project Manager (CIPM). He has obtained MA in Organizational Leadership, and he is currently perusing a Ph.D. program, in “Innovative Urban Leadership” at Bakke Graduate University, Dallas, Texas. 
Tekalign has worked for Government and Non-Governmental organizations in different capacities. He has been Head of Development, Project Leader, Projects Manager, Funding Coordinator, Communication Coordinator, Translation & Literature Promoter, and Agricultural Extensionist.
Tekalign has managed projects and partnerships with prominent organizations like World Vision Ethiopia, SIDA (Swedish International Development Agency), MCC (Mennonite Central Committee), FaithInvest, Tear Fund, UK, Samaritan Purse, Wycliffe Netherlands, Wycliffe US, SIM USA, the Seed Company and Lelt Foundation.
