About Anchor Ethiopia
Anchor Ethiopia is a Civil Society Organization which has been registered and granted with a legal personality with Registry Number 6406 as a board-led charitable organization in accordance with the Civil Society Organization Proclamation No. 1113/2019.
Anchor Ethiopia has been established to respond to the critical needs for humanitarian intervention, poverty eradication and building holistic peace and social cohesion in Ethiopia. Anchor Ethiopia’s triple nexus approach ( Humanitarian-Development-Peace) primarily targets children, youth, women, and minority groups who are suffering from abject poverty and social discrimination.
Anchor Ethiopia has launched a project called, “Suki-Mariam Children and Family Empowerment”
Suki-Mariam Children and Family Empowerment Project is being implemented in Addis Ababa, Nifas Silk Lafto Sub-city, Jemo. The project targeted Suki-Mariam communities who live with abject poverty and depend their lives on the risky plastic and other recycling materials’ collection business at Koshe. The Project has three major components: Education, Nutrition, and Job Creation. Adult Education and Digital Literacy Programs are also sub-activities of the project.
Anchor’s Community Center & Computer Lab
Anchor Ethiopia has established a Community Center for Suki-Mariam Communities. The Community Center accommodates various services. Some of the services are: Feeding, After School/Tutorial Services, Library, Computer Lab/Digital Literacy, Adult Literacy and various training services. Being located at the ideal place, the Community Center can serve both Suki-Mariam and Koshe Communities.
